Ormiston Town Centre opened on 25 March 2021, Flat Bush Library is at 5 William Ralph Road, and 94-hectare Barry Curtis Park surrounds the western part of the town centre. Most schools are recent: Ormiston Senior College opened in 2008, Ormiston Primary in 2015 and Te Uho o Te Nikau Primary in 2019. The trade-off is rail: there is no Flat Bush train station.
