Papakura District has had a big few months: a first food festival, 25 new te reo Māori park names, new stations down the line at Drury and Paerātā, and the City Rail Link. Here's where prices sat over the last 12 months, and what's worth knowing locally.

The numbers, suburb by suburb

Homes only, from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. The median is the middle sale. The average includes the bigger sales, so it's usually higher.

• Conifer Grove: median $902,000, average $917,000, 193 sales, 31% by auction
• Opaheke: median $882,000, average $884,000, 174 sales, 5% by auction
• Pahurehure: median $890,000, average $887,000, 68 sales, 28% by auction
• Papakura: median $736,000, average $787,000, 604 sales, 13% by auction
• Rosehill: median $945,000, average $981,000, 229 sales, 7% by auction
• Takanini: median $828,000, average $843,000, 612 sales, 17% by auction

Rosehill has the highest median here at $945,000, and Papakura the lowest at $736,000. Takanini and Papakura were the two busiest markets, with 612 and 604 sales. Auctions were rare in Opaheke at 5% and Rosehill at 7%, while in Conifer Grove 31% of sales went to auction.

What's new

• Food: Plate Up Papakura, the area's first food festival, ran from 15 to 31 August with 14 local eateries, run by the Papakura Business Association (OurAuckland).
• Trains: Drury and Paerātā stations opened on 2 August with 350 park-and-ride spaces each (Auckland Transport). Since the City Rail Link opened on 13 September, Papakura and Takanini are on the South City line, which runs straight into the new city stations (RNZ).
• Takanini level crossings: Auckland Transport plans up to seven new bridges, staged from mid-2027, starting with Walters Road (AT project page).
• Park names: Papakura adopted 25 te reo Māori park names shared by four iwi. Keri Downs Park is now Te Kirikiri / Keri Downs Park, after an ancient pā site (OurAuckland).
• Heritage: Te Waahi o Papakura, a free self-guided heritage trail built with mana whenua and Papakura Museum, is part of the Auckland Heritage Festival (OurAuckland).
• Coming up: Once Upon a Screen at the Hawkins Theatre on 17 October (Eventfinda).
